Someone told me recently that my show has been an archive for what the first responders of New York City have done. Shows like yesterdays only further cement that for me. The 1991 Union Square Derailment presented a unique challenge for all who responded. But like first responders always do in the Big Apple or anywhere else for that matter, they rose to the occasion.
Special thanks to Patrick Pogan, Rick Martinez, and Mike Pena for sharing their stories and shedding a lot on a tough moment made bearable for the battered by ordinary men doing extraordinary things.
