There are times and moments in life when you just know you’re in a sweet spot, and not just any sweet spot, but a once in a lifetime sweet spot where the fun you’re having in those moments can never be equaled nor rivaled.

2005 was that time for retired Chicago Police Department Chief of Detectives Eugene Roy, PCI. Then commander of the melting pot 9th District and at the forefront of security measures for the Chicago White Sox as they marched to their first World Series championship since 1917, it was the year of a lifetime and of many anecdotes shared with me as we looked back on the career of a lifetime for Volume 7 of The Beat: Profiles of Police Nationwide.
