For over 30 years he has been getting it done on the front lines with the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). Joining the department at the dawn of the 90’s, he cut his teeth for 7 years before a great opportunity opened up towards the end of the decade, when he was a charter member of the Special Operations Command Squads introduced to the department in the summer of 1998, his home in particular being Manhattan’s Squad 18.

From Lieutenant to Captain to Chief his ascent through the ranks has been both exciting and fruitful and has culminated in a pretty cool current role as the department’s Chief of Operations, a role in which he has served since July 2022.

I’m talking about Chief John M. Esposito, who’s the guest for the milestone 50th Volume of The Best of The Bravest: Interviews With The FDNY’s Elite!
