(WEDNESDAY, 7PM)
He laid it all on the line for 41 years on the FDNY. Joining the department in 1977, he was a Truckie for the majority of his time out in the field with stops at 16, 26, 111, & 147 Truck respectively.
He had a stop in Battalion 41/Engine 241 in between, but he spent over 20 years of an outstanding career in the department’s Special Operations Command. First as the Captain of Squad 1 in Brooklyn from 1994 until 2000 and then as a Chief in the FDNY’s Rescue Battalion. Joining me for Volume 53 of The Best Of The Bravest: Interviews With The FDNY’s Elite will be retired FDNY Deputy Chief Donald Hayde.
