(WEDNESDAY, 7PM: EPISODE 300)

Lasting in the podcast business is quite frankly, not easy. Everyone wants to start one, but what do you do? What do you talk about? Who do you talk to? Those are the questions that stump and stifle many. And at times, they’ve stumped and stifled me too. But, despite all of that I’ve trudged ahead. I’ve built something to be proud of, I’ve been blessed with a network of great people because of what I’ve been able to build and this Wednesday night for the 300th time, I take to the air to bring it to you.

I could say a million things, but there’s not enough words to encapsulate the appreciation and love I have for my audience. Without that, no matter how good you may be or how interesting your subject matter may be, you have nothing. 300 times you’ve tuned in, 300 times you’ve reminded me why I do what I do and for that I simply say: thank you.

So who’s our guest for this milestone? Well, a 38-year veteran of the FDNY, he’s still getting it done as the department’s highest ranking uniformed member. Coming onto the job in March of 1986, he’s worked in houses like Ladder 11, Battalion 41, Ladder 157, and Ladder 87, before his 2006 promotion to Battalion Chief. In the near 20 years he’s been a Chief, he has served in a variety of different roles that culminated with the ultimate in June of 2022, when he was promoted to Chief of Department, a position he has held for nearly 2 years. He is Chief John Hodgens, he is the guest for Volume 54 of The Best of The Bravest: Interviews With The FDNY’s Elite, and he is the guest for Episode 300 of the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
