He responded to emergencies of all sorts both underground and above ground as a member of both the New York City Transit Police and NYPD. A rescue squad member for 17 of his 20 years in policing, his time was split between the New York City Transit Police Emergency Medical Rescue Unit and the NYPD Emergency Service Unit.
