An author of “Command Presence”, a prolific contributor to major publications such as the Daily Caller, Newsweek, and The Hill, and a Fellow at the Yankee Institute for Public Policy, he’s a retired Battalion Chief and Union President for my hometown New Haven Fire Department having served our city for 23 years ranging from 1997 until 2020. He serves as a Contributing Editor and Advisory Board Member for Fire Engineering and co-hosts the radio show “Politics & Tactics.” With roles as Drillmaster, Chief of Special Operations Command, and as a lead consultant for Yale, he has received several awards, including the Medal of Valor.
