For 43 years, he saw law enforcement in Connecticut from a state level as a member of the Connecticut State Police. Serving in the agency from 1974 until 2017, he served in various capacities, most memorably perhaps, in the agency’s public information office for 17 years which is where I as a life long Connecticut boy saw him on television providing briefings on many an occasion on a wide array of matters and and that for what will be Volume 15 of The Beat: Profiles of Police Nationwide is retired Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance
