After a summer hiatus to recharge and focus on other projects, the Mic’d In New Haven podcast is back. Our first guest? A 23-year veteran of the NYPD, his time on the line began as a Military Policeman with the United States Marine Corps, from there he served for a time as a bodyguard to the royal family of Jordan and the Shah of Iran’s family, he transitioned into law enforcement, working with Westchester County Corrections before joining the NYPD in 1988.
After patrolling for 5 years, he joined the Emergency Service Unit in 1993 responding to several major incidents including the Freddy’s Fashion Mart Massacre of 1995, the 2000 shootout that left several officers injured in Brooklyn, rescue and recovery efforts in Haiti after their 2010 earthquake, and both attacks on the World Trade Center in 1993 and 2001.
He retired in 2011 as a 2nd Grade Detective. That’s Rich er and he’s the guest for Volume 48 of The E-Men: Inside The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit.
