He spent over three decades in law enforcement, rising through the ranks of the NYPD to become Chief of Detectives. He started his career in 1983 and quickly became immersed in some of the city’s most challenging times, from the crack cocaine epidemic to supervising major precincts across Brooklyn and the Bronx. He led the NYPD’s Detective Bureau through pivotal moments, including the aftermath of 9/11 and the integration of the Organized Crime Control Bureau. Since retiring in 2017, he’s continued to share his expertise as a contributor to ABC News and as the narrator and consulting producer of New York Homicide. And that is retired NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce who after a long hunt on my part, will at last join me on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
