He served 27 years of a law enforcement career that took him from the subways to the airways. Starting in 1991 with the New York City Transit Police, he lateraled to the NYPD in 1992 and for the 13 years on patrol he was a Brooklyn cop in Greenpoint before his 2005 transfer to the Aviation Unit where along the way he was promoted to Detective 2nd Grade and received the Medal of Valor for a 2012 rescue he’ll detail with me and that is retired NYPD Detective Mike Sileo who joins us now on the Mic’d In New Haven podcast.
