A dedicated and accomplished veteran of emergency medical services, his career spans over four decades. From volunteering with BRAVO Ambulance as a teenager to rising through the ranks of the FDNY, he served as a paramedic, lieutenant, captain, and ultimately Division Chief. Along the way, he played a pivotal role in disaster response efforts, including the 1993 and 2001 World Trade Center operations, and supported countless EMS members through leadership roles and advocacy. This Monday, for Volume 64 of The Best of The Bravest: Interviews with The FDNY’s Elite I’ll be joined by retired FDNY Division Chief Jay Swithers.
