A highly respected retired NYPD detective whose career spanned nearly two decades, marked by exceptional work in anti-crime and narcotics enforcement, as well as robbery investigation, he joined the force in 1983 and quickly established himself as a proactive officer, making significant arrests from his very first tours. As a detective, he served in some of the NYPD’s most prestigious investigative units, including the Manhattan Robbery Squad and the 19th Precinct Robbery Intervention Program, where his work directly impacted public safety in high-crime areas. With a career defined by dedication and tactical expertise, he earned promotions to Detective 3rd Grade in 1988 and Detective 2nd Grade in 1996 before retiring in March of 2001, and that is NYPD Detective Mike Charles, who joins me for the 350th episode of the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
