In his 22 years of service to the City of New York, he wore not one but two public safety hats. First as a police officer from 1981 until 1987 and then as both a firefighter and fire marshal with the FDNY. Investigating and responding to numerous cases and incidents including the fire that killed Captain Vincent Fowler in 1999, the Father’s Day Fire of June 17, 2001, and the terror attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, there were no dull moments in his career.
