(MONDAY, 6PM)
This week on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s The E-Men: Inside the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit — and my guest is retired ESU Officer Carl Russo.
A Brooklyn-born cop, Carl worked his way up from patrol in one of the city’s busiest precincts to the elite ranks of ESU. Along the way, he became not only a first responder, but also a teacher — passing down life-saving skills to the next generation of E-Men at the STS school.
From safe-cracking in the private sector to teaching ropes, locks, and tools inside ESU, Carl’s story is one of grit, adaptability, and the heart that defines the unit.
That’s retired ESU Officer Carl Russo, on The E-Men: Inside the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit — only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
