Episode 390: The Best of The Bravest: Lieutenant John Sheehan (Volume 81)

This Friday on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s The Best of The Bravest — and my guest is Lieutenant John Sheehan, a veteran of one of the most unique and storied firefighting institutions in American history: the New York Fire Patrol.

Over nearly three decades, Lt. Sheehan served in multiple Patrol houses, watched Lower Manhattan transform around him, operated at some of the city’s most memorable fires, and rose through the ranks to lieutenant before the Fire Patrol’s disbandment in 2006.

His career stands as a living bridge between the fire service of the past and the modern era — a firsthand perspective from a time and tradition that will never exist again.

That’s Lieutenant John Sheehan, on The Best of The Bravest: Interviews with the FDNY’s Elite — only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
