With more than three decades of dedication to the job, Chief Gonzalez’s career spans instruction, leadership, and operational excellence. From his early days as a volunteer in Coral Springs to his current role as Battalion Chief of Training, he’s helped shape generations of firefighters through in-service instruction, urban search and rescue deployments, and elite-level special operations training.

A veteran of both the classroom and the fireground, he’s led from the front during structural collapses, hurricane responses, and large-scale emergencies — earning the trust of his department, his community, and fire service professionals across the state.
