Friday on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s another edition of Best of Both Badges — and this time, we revisit one of Brooklyn’s most complex and challenging fires.

On the night of August 26, 1995, a massive fire tore through the historic St. George Hotel. What began as a difficult, fast-moving fire quickly escalated into a major multi-agency operation — pushing FDNY fireground tactics to the limit and triggering an intensive criminal investigation by the NYPD.

Tonight, we take you inside both sides of that night — the suppression effort and the investigation that followed — with retired FDNY Firefighter Garrett Lindgren and retired NYPD Detective Bill Ryan, two men who worked the incident from different angles.

Fire. Investigation. Lessons learned.

This is Best of Both Badges — Friday, only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
