This week on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s another volume of The Beat: Profiles of Police Nationwide — and my guest is Terry Dwyer.

Terry built a career that spanned nearly every layer of the criminal justice system — from New York City Corrections to the Bronx courts, and ultimately into the ranks of the New York State Police. There, he worked complex investigations involving organized crime, labor racketeering, and major violent crimes.

Along the way, he uncovered corruption within his own agency, earned some of the department’s highest honors, and was the first investigator on scene at a quintuple homicide that would be solved within days.

After retirement, his work didn’t stop — moving into the classroom, the courtroom, and eventually into writing, continuing a lifetime of public service in a different way.

That’s Terry Dwyer, on The Beat: Profiles of Police Nationwide — only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
