This week on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s another volume of The E-Men: Inside The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit — and my guest is Mike Black.

Mike built his career around service long before he ever wore the NYPD shield. After joining the United States Navy in 1999, he trained as an aircrewman and search-and-rescue specialist — flying aboard H-60 helicopters during the early years of the post-9/11 era.

He brought that experience to New York City in 2005, joining the NYPD and working patrol in Brooklyn before earning his place in Emergency Service. After graduating from the Special Training School, he spent nearly a decade operating out of Truck 8 — finishing his career with the elite A-Team.

Military precision. ESU execution. A career built on high-risk operations.

That’s Mike Black, on The E-Men: Inside The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit — only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
