This week on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s another volume of The Best of The Bravest: Interviews with The FDNY’s Elite — and my guest is retired FDNY Captain Anthony “Tony” Tedeschi.

Tony’s career in New York City emergency services took him through all three uniformed disciplines. Starting as an EMT with New York City EMS in 1991, he joined the NYPD in 1993 before making the move to the FDNY in 1996.

Over the next 21 years, his FDNY career took him from Engine 237 to some of the department’s most specialized companies — Squad 270, Rescue 1, Rescue 2, and Squad 288 — before eventually returning to Squad 270 as its Captain.

Along the way, Tony became deeply involved in technical rescue and Urban Search and Rescue, serving with FEMA’s New York Task Force 1, working with the FDNY Technical Rescue School, and spending decades passing his knowledge on to firefighters both inside and outside New York City.

EMS. NYPD. FDNY. Rescue, Squad, and a lifetime dedicated to training the next generation.

That’s retired FDNY Captain Anthony “Tony” Tedeschi, on The Best of The Bravest: Interviews with The FDNY’s Elite — only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
