(WEDNESDAY, 6PM)
This week on Mic’d In New Haven, my guest is Mike Renna — a retired New York City law enforcement officer whose career is a testament to perseverance, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to public service.
After beginning his career in law enforcement, Mike joined the Housing Police in the early 1990s, serving the residents of New York City’s public housing developments during a challenging era. He later moved into one of the department’s most specialized assignments, becoming a firearms instructor in Special Weapons, where he helped train countless officers throughout his career.
But Mike’s story extends far beyond the badge. After surviving a catastrophic accident that left him in a coma for two months, he fought his way back to duty through determination and grit. Even when faced with additional health challenges later in life, he continued to demonstrate the toughness and resilience that defined his years in law enforcement.
It’s a powerful story of service, survival, and never giving up.
That’s Mike Renna, on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast. Don’t miss it.
