Anthony came on the job during one of the toughest eras in New York City transit policing. Joining the Transit Police in 1983, he quickly distinguished himself, earning a spot in the elite Emergency Medical Rescue Unit just two years later.

As New York law enforcement underwent major changes during the merger era, Anthony made the transition to ESU Truck 7, where he spent the next decade responding to the city’s most challenging emergencies. From transit rescues to critical incidents across the five boroughs, his career was defined by action, adaptability, and service under pressure.
