(FRIDAY, 6PM)
This week on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s another volume of The E-Men: Inside The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit — and my guest is retired NYPD Detective Chris Zaberto.
Chris brought a unique combination of police, paramedic, tactical, and hazardous-materials experience to one of the most specialized units in American law enforcement.
His emergency-services career began as an EMT in Queens before becoming a paramedic and joining the NYPD in 1994. After serving in the 46th Precinct, Anti-Crime, Street Crime, and Queens North Borough Crime, Chris transferred to ESU’s Hazardous Materials Response Unit in 2004.
From there, he became a Weapons of Mass Destruction specialist, served as one of ESU’s tactical medics, joined the Apprehension Tactical Team, and eventually helped train other members of the department as an instructor at the Specialized Training School.
Medicine. HazMat. Tactical operations. And the specialized world of NYPD Emergency Service.
That’s retired NYPD Detective Chris Zaberto, on The E-Men: Inside The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit — only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
