In this Mic’d In New Haven highlight, law enforcement veteran Andrés Mahecha recalls an undercover cocaine investigation that suddenly took a dangerous turn.
With the dealer growing suspicious, Mahecha found himself squeezed into the back seat of a car with men on both sides of him — and then ordered to prove himself by taking a hit.
One carefully chosen phrase to his supervisor became the emergency signal, and the field team moved in fast to get him out.
