(MONDAY, 6PM)
Next week on Mic’d In New Haven, it’s another volume of The Best of The Bravest: Nationwide Edition — and my guest is New Haven Fire Department Deputy Chief Chris Ryan.
Chief Ryan has spent more than two decades serving the Elm City, rising through the ranks from firefighter to Deputy Chief and Shift Commander.
Beginning his career with Engine 6, he later transferred to Squad 1, where his work in technical rescue would earn him the department’s Medal of Merit. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2014 and Captain in 2018, Ryan continued his ascent through the department, eventually becoming Battalion Chief of the West Battalion before being promoted to Deputy Chief in 2023.
With extensive technical rescue experience, numerous Connecticut State Fire Academy certifications, and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science from the University of New Haven, Chief Ryan brings more than 20 years of firefighting, rescue operations, and leadership experience to the table.
From the engine house to specialized rescue, company command, and ultimately overseeing an entire shift of the New Haven Fire Department — we’re talking about a career dedicated to protecting the Elm City.
That’s Deputy Chief Chris Ryan, on The Best of The Bravest: Nationwide Edition — only on the Mic’d In New Haven Podcast.
